LABORATORY TECHNICIAN:

    • B Tech in Architecture/Civil Engineering or equivalent NQF level 7, with a minimum 3 year undergraduate qualification in the built environment.
    • At least 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience.
    • At least 2 years of industry experience with built environment software; AutoCad and Revit.


Additional Recommendations:

    • Good communication and lecturing skills.
    • A strong passion for technology, teaching, and research.
    • Experience with BIM.
    • Proof of 2 years teaching, tutoring or practical experience at a higher education institute or private institution.
    • Experience with OHS and procurement practices.


Summary of Duties:

    • Teaching laboratory software at all levels.
    • The development of technological learning materials.
    • The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in technological research development in the department.
    • Oversee the operations of the computer and practical laboratory, in maintaining existing infrastructure, software, hardware and computing.
    • Assist with departmental, administrative and other duties as prescribed by the Head of Department.
