Where a system of CPD is being applied in any particular country, such requirements may be accepted by the Council, provided that documentary proof of compliance with such CPD requirements is submitted.

This may be in the form of a certification by the relevant accrediting authority in the country concerned.

The points earned as set out above will be converted to be in line with the allocation of points applicable in South Africa (i.e., 10 hours = One Point in Category 1).

 If no CPD is undertaken by the Registered Professional practicing abroad in terms of the above, such registered professional must, upon return to South Africa, apply for the necessary extension of time for compliance, to provide him sufficient time to obtain and claim the required CPD points for the renewal of registration.

Any Registered Professional practicing abroad may register for CPD courses in South Africa via e-learning.

You can make use of the debit order payment method to pay for your annual fees only on 15th, 25th and 30th/31st of each month. It is advisable to opt for the debit order payment method as soon as the invoices are issued, for longer term. The link to the debit order mandate is:

NB!! TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY WHEN USING A DEBIT ORDER PAYMENT METHOD

You only register once.  You will however be liable for payment of an annual fee.  This fee is levied at the beginning of SACAP’s financial year, being 1 April.  The invoice for the annual fees will be available on your online profile.

Unless it is a specific term of the written contract that an architectural professional should specifically provide you with drawings in a CAD format, there is no obligation on the architectural professional to provide you with drawings in a CAD format. It is best that this requirement of drawings in a CAD format is provided for in the written contract.
